Happenings in the press

BOOOOOOOM just put up a little interview with me on their site and they managed to make my book look very attractive. I think I might start requiring people to gather a nice rock, some tea and a bit of crochet before reading my work. Also there has to be a bit of sun coming in the window. How good does that look? Damn. They are also giving away a couple of copies of the book to people who leave a favorite poem in the comments section. I managed to shout out some favorite people in Chicago and elsewhere, and work in a little thing about how Benjamin Franklin supposedly had to be naked to get any writing done.

walk cycle

Last week I mentioned Lilli's late-breaking PFC proposal that we each contribute to a 'walk cycle' to be animated and looped before the Eyeworks presentation that happened Saturday night. The Jugglers

Above is the postcard for the exhibition I am putting together at Co Exhibitions (with June Misserey) presenting non-comics work by some of the artists of PFC4 and Autoptic. Below is some work that will go in the show including (a very small selection of) Lilli Carre's exquisite porcelain sculpture and the cut out miniature drawing installations of Belgium's Emilie Plateau. So much great stuff. The reception is Tuesday, August 13th.

More Cool S#*% at Autoptic

This just in: We're putting together a screening of experimental animation with Lilli Carre and Alexander Stewart's EYEWORKS, in conjunction with SALTWATER WEATHER, a shadow puppet play by Sara Drake and Pup House.

New Chicago Comics at the MCA

In January I'll have about twenty originals spanning the entirety of Big Questions on display at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago as part of the show New Chicago Comics. Also in the show are Paul Hornschemeier, Lilli Carre and Jeffrey Brown. The show opens January 7th, as part of the museums First Fridays programming, with a reception from 6-9.
