ten by ten
Nick Butcher and Nadine Nakanishi (AKA Sonnenzimmer--I've done posts about them here and here) just did a series of ten posters for Insound's 10x10 series. They are @#$%&x* brilliant. They are up now in Logan Square at Longman & Eagle (best ceiling in the city) and should be available at the Sonnenzimmer and Insound sites if they haven't sold them all already. Eighties Trapper Keeper art made smart, sharp and sublime. I also recommend the Sonnenzimmer blog.

Notes from Gatsby, heard on the street, a guy, Rage of Poseidon Water Adventures

I was supposed to do a reading last Thursday with Joe Meno for the release of the paperback edition of his book Demons in the Spring (a book of short stories each of which was illustrated by a different artist, one of whom was me). But the vagaries of life (specifically, bringing it into the world) forced him to postpone. Which was a good thing for me. I had a story, the beginning of which you can see below, but I wasn't quite settled on visuals. When the event gets rescheduled come find out what I come up with.
